Full Service City
Consistent with values espoused in the Mission Statement, the City of La Verne is a "full service" City which provides the major municipal services through a combination of internal City departments staffed by City of La Verne employees and contracts with other agencies. The basis for this method of operation is the belief that City departments and employees are often more responsive to the needs and concerns of the community. A high level of responsiveness and commitment to the community translates into a superior level of service and a better quality of life for the citizenry. Although contracting may be a less expensive way to provide basic  municipals services, the City of La Verne places greater worth in the "quality of life" that can often be attained through the provision of service through its own employees.
